Awakened to War (Notes)

12 “Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms.  For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage.”

Ephesians 6:12 (TPT)

3–4 “For although we live in the natural realm, we don’t wage a military campaign employing human weapons, using manipulation to achieve our aims. Instead, our spiritual weapons are energized with divine power to effectively dismantle the defenses behind which people hide.”

2 Corinthians 10:3-4 (TPT)

God thinks different than we do!

One word from God is more powerful than 10 million words from humans

1. GENEROSITY

15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked. 16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 18 As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, “Strike this army with blindness.” So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked. 19 Elisha told them, “This is not the road and this is not the city. Follow me, and I will lead you to the man you are looking for.” And he led them to Samaria. 20 After they entered the city, Elisha said, “Lord, open the eyes of these men so they can see.” Then the Lord opened their eyes and they looked, and there they were, inside Samaria. 21 When the king of Israel saw them, he asked Elisha, “Shall I kill them, my father?Shall I kill them?” 22 “Do not kill them,” he answered. “Would you kill those you have captured with your own sword or bow? Set food and water before them so that they may eat and drink and then go back to their master.” 23 So he prepared a great feast for them, and after they had finished eating and drinking, he sent them away, and they returned to their master. So the bands from Aram stopped raiding Israel’s territory.

II Kings 6:15-23 (NIV)

Compassion will bring you victories that skilled warfare, prayer & fasting can’t.

Do for others what you need God to do for you.

Compassion/kindness is generosity of heart.

Through GENEROSITY we war against a poverty mindset.

2. PRAISE

As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.”

II Chronicles 20:22 (NIV)

Israel surrounded by nations – calls for prayer, fast.  Prophet Jehaziel Israel trusted in their prophets and succeeded – regardless who it comes from.  Your job is to determine if it’s the Lord.  “When they began to sing and praise the Lord set ambushes against them.”

David learned the power of praise.  God establishes His throne on the praises of His people.  Worship/praise transforms a people’s lives.  Don’t respond to the circumstance but to the nature of God.  The Lord made them rejoice before they won the battle.  Not between God and devil.  Satan is a created being.  No struggle between God and the powers of darkness.  The enemy only exists to help train the people of God to reign forever.  God designed humanity to destroy the powers of darkness through the victory Jesus won.  We don’t fight FOR victory we fight FROM victory toward the broken conditions of life.  We are learning how to apply what Jesus has already been victorious over.

Worship = to kiss… a face to face encounter.

God has solutions and answers for every problem!
Through PRAISE we war against resignation.

3. EXCELLENCE

18 Then I looked up, and there before me were four horns. 19 I asked the angel who was speaking to me, “What are these?” He answered me, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem.” 20 Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen. 21 I asked, “What are these coming to do?”  He answered, “These are the horns that scattered Judah so that no one could raise their head, but the craftsmen have come to terrify them and throw down these horns of the nations who lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter its people.

Zechariah 1:18-21 (NIV)

Beauty is God’s mark to help restore the soul of a people.

The hour has come for the people of God to place value to restore the soul of a city.

Through EXCELLENCE we war against complacency.

Through EXCELLENCE we war against complacency.

  • Principle without presence is a kingdom without a Kingdom.
  • The lifestyle we are summoned to live is in response to the voice of the Lord.
  • The Father puts us in a position where unless He speaks we don’t know what to do.
