AWAKENING Part 3: Repentance – the Gateway to Refreshing (Notes)
Daniel 7:9-10
“As I looked, “thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.10 A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened.
Do you picture prayer as a battlefield or a courtroom?
Psalm 32:1-5
1 Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.2 Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.3 When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.4 For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer.5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.
Psalm 51:1-4
1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.
What is transgression and how does it give the enemy legal right in your life?
- Pray and ask Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth.
Condemnation – from the enemy
Leaves you overwhelmed, overcome, disempowered, hopeless.
Conviction – from Holy Spirit
Accompanied by hope, brings you power and strategy for victory.
- Ask the Lord to open the courts of Heaven for you.
- Ask Holy Spirit to shine the light of conviction on the following areas:
Sin – areas where you have missed the mark. (Intent)
Transgression – areas where you stepped across the line (Activity)
Iniquity – sin that is in the bloodline. (Generational)
For sin & transgression – repent.
For iniquity – break and dismantle the things that were passed down
Refuse to allow condemnation or fear to sabotage the process. The enemy will try to interfere because he is threatened by your freedom!
You have an advocate in the Courts of Heaven!
Luke 22:31-32
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
Acts 3:19
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
