Followers of Jesus (Part 1)
Redemption –
Titus 2:14 (TPT) He sacrificed himself for us that he might purchase our freedom from every lawless deed and to purify for himself a people who are his very own, passionate to do what is beautiful in his eyes.
“Redeemed” means to release for a ransom; to purchase, deliver, to liberate.
Isaiah 43:1 (NKJV) Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.
Salvation –
John 3:16 (NLT) For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
“Salvation” means delivering our soul from sin and its consequences. But we don’t have to wait for Heaven to experience it; Jesus can deliver our soul right now from this present evil world.
John 17:3 (NLT) And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.
Gal. 1:4 (NLT) Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.
“If you’re only born once then you must die twice, but if you’re born twice then you only have to die once.“
Romans 10:13 (NLT) “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
